John Deere Updates the 6M Series for Model Year 2027

Smarter Technology, Enhanced Comfort and a New e19™ Transmission

John Deere has unveiled its MY27 updates for the popular 6M Series, introducing a host of enhancements designed to improve usability, connectivity and day-to-day productivity.

The latest updates bring the 6M range closer than ever to its larger 6R, 7R and 8R counterparts, with a more consistent operating experience, advanced precision farming capabilities and the introduction of the all-new e19™ transmission on selected six-cylinder models.

With 17 models available, from the compact and highly manoeuvrable 6M 95 through to the powerful 6M 250, the updated range continues to offer a versatile solution for livestock, mixed, arable and contracting businesses.

Introducing the New e19™ Full Powershift Transmission

One of the biggest developments for MY27 is the arrival of the new e19™ full powershift transmission.

Available on most six-cylinder models up to the 6M 250, the e19 transmission delivers 19 fully powershifted gears and combines proven PowrQuad™ technology with a dual-clutch design to provide smooth, uninterrupted gear changes.

The intelligent transmission management system continuously adapts shifting behaviour based on load, speed and operating conditions, helping operators maintain productivity while improving fuel efficiency.

Key benefits include:

  • Smooth gear changes without torque interruption
  • Automatic gear and engine speed management
  • Improved transport performance up to 50kph
  • Skip Shift and Scroll Shift functionality for faster acceleration
  • Up to 5% productivity improvements
  • Up to 5% lower fuel consumption compared with CommandQuad™ Plus
  • Whether working in the field or travelling between jobs, the new e19 transmission delivers a more refined and efficient driving experience.

Spotlight on Three Key Models

John Deere 6M 125

The compact 6M 125 is ideally suited to loader work, livestock operations and mixed farms.

Its short wheelbase, excellent visibility and impressive manoeuvrability make it a productive choice for intensive yard work, while optional joystick control further enhances loader performance.

John Deere 6M 145

Combining six-cylinder performance with the latest MY27 technology updates, the 6M 145 delivers impressive pulling power in a compact and versatile package.

With the option of the new e19 transmission, it offers an ideal balance between power, efficiency and manoeuvrability.

John Deere 6M 220

For larger arable and mixed farming businesses, the 6M 220 delivers up to 249hp with Intelligent Power Management.

Combining strong draft performance, full Precision Ag integration and a wide range of transmission options, it offers a cost-effective solution for demanding cultivation, transport and PTO applications.

A More Intuitive Operating Experience

The MY27 update introduces a revised cab layout and a more unified operating concept across the John Deere tractor range.

Operators moving between 6M, 6R, 7R and 8R tractors will benefit from familiar controls, displays and operating logic, helping reduce training requirements and improving efficiency across mixed fleets.

Customers can choose from a variety of control configurations, including:

  • Traditional right-hand console layouts
  • Compact CommandARM™ controls
  • G5 CommandCenter™ display
  • CommandX™ Plus joystick
  • The optional CommandX™ Plus joystick offers six customisable buttons, ISOBUS integration and enhanced machine control, bringing premium functionality to the 6M range.

Precision Farming Ready

John Deere has expanded the precision farming capabilities available on the 6M Series, helping operators make the most of every pass.

The range can now be equipped with:

  • StarFire™ 7500 receiver
  • G5 CommandCenter™ display
  • JDLink™ connectivity

Together, these technologies unlock a range of advanced solutions including:

  • AutoTrac™ Turn Automation
  • AutoPath™
  • Passive Implement Guidance
  • Section Control
  • Variable Rate Control
  • Satellite Map visualisation

Work plans can be created within John Deere Operations Center™ and transferred directly to the tractor, reducing setup time and helping operators work more efficiently in the field.

InField Data Sharing also allows multiple machines to work together seamlessly, while wireless data synchronisation keeps machine and field records up to date automatically.

Improved Automation and Work Planning

The updated 6M range introduces advanced automation features that help streamline daily operations.

iTEC™ headland management automates repeatable tasks such as:

  • PTO engagement
  • Hydraulic functions
  • Hitch movements
  • Travel speed adjustments
  • Gear selection

Meanwhile, Work Planner enables job data, guidance lines and implement settings to be sent directly from John Deere Operations Center™ to the tractor, reducing setup time and helping operators cover more hectares in less time.

Built for Maximum Uptime

John Deere has also focused on serviceability and machine uptime.

The new e19™ transmission incorporates a fully mechanical gear train designed for durability and reduced wear, while a high-bandwidth communication system gives access to over 2,000 machine data points.

This supports enhanced remote diagnostics and Expert Alerts, helping dealerships and service teams identify potential issues before they become costly breakdowns.
