CLOSED – Thomas Wilch and High

Ben Burgess has taken the decision to close electric motor business Thomas Wilch & High as of Friday 3rd December 2021.

It has been a very difficult decision for us as we have traded in electric motors for over 48 years. The origin of which dates to 1973 when Mr. Burgess bought W.Hagg & Son from Reggie Hagg. Which in 1976 was where current company director Ben Turner started within the Ben Burgess Group.

Unfortunately, the dramatic changes we have seen in the industry over the last few years mean that the business is no longer viable. This coupled with the recent disappointing news from South Norfolk Council reguarding our proposed new headquarters development means that until a new home is found, we need to create additional space for our core business in the current site.

Thomas Wilch and High have been established in the electric motor repair and supply industry since our formation in 1947. Originally located in the South Norfolk village of Swardeston, the company relocated to 38 Europa Way, Norwich upon becoming part of the Ben Burgess group. We continue to offer a repair service to standard AC motors, pumps and fans. We stock and supply a large range of new AC motors, in both single and three-phase. In addition to this, we offer a range of AC motor starters and control gear as well as electric motor accessories such as capacitors and carbon brushes.
